
Biography
For more than a quarter of a century, the work of award-winning developer
F. Calvin Riddle, Jr. has been a benchmark in real estate development. A 1974
graduate of Clemson University, he owned and operated a residential construction
and development comapny in Fayetteville for 5 years prior to joining the Brandermill
Group of Richmond, Virginia. During this fruitful association, he served as
Project Manager of luxurious Fripp Island, a South Carolina coastal resort
and became the President of Swift Creek Construction Company, a subsidiary
of the Brandermill Group in Midlothian, Virginia. During his time with the
Brandermill Group he was directly responsible for two luxury condominium projects
and the development of the Information and Corporate Offices for Woodlake,
Virginia which was selected the Best Planned Community in America by the Urban
Land Institue.
In 1986, Mr. Riddle decided to return to his roots in Fayetteville. North Carolina and was directly responsible for the development of the 172-unit Barton's Landing Condominiums and the 72-unit Preston Woods Condominiums in Fayetteville. In 1992, Mr. Riddle established Ashton Development Group, Inc. to concentrate on producing some of the finest multi-family and garden homes in the area. Among his numerous accomplishments are Village of Belmont Townhouses in Historic Hatmount, the garden homes at Village Walk, Birkdale Village at King's Grant and Autumn Chase. He also has developed the 180-unit King's Grant Condominium and the 48-unit Edmonton Village Condominiums.
A rare combination of superior location, quality workmanship and affordable pricing makes Mr. Riddle's homes extremely attractive in the marketplace. All homes in Village Walk were under contract within 45 days of initial offering, and all 48 units of Edmonton Village Condominiums were under reservation agreements within 12 months of initial offering.
For their exemplary work in the design and construction, the neighborhood of Village Walk received the prestigious Marquis de Lafayette Award for Community Appearance from the City of Fayetteville. Mr. Riddle's work has been featured in National Publications, Builder Magazine and Multi-Housing News.
